Information for debtors

Have we contacted you?

Contact from us means a business has instructed South Coast Collections about an overdue commercial account. You can ask questions, provide evidence or discuss how the matter can be resolved.

First, confirm the contact is genuine

Our official contact details are shown on this website. If you receive a message claiming to be from SCC, you may contact us independently using these details before responding or making any payment.

Never send card details, passwords or identity documents through social-media messages. Do not make payment until you are satisfied that the instruction and payment details are genuine.

If you agree the amount is owed

Contact us promptly. We can confirm the balance and discuss payment in full. If immediate payment is not possible, you may submit a realistic proposal for the creditor to consider. SCC cannot guarantee that any proposal will be accepted.

If you dispute the debt

Tell us in writing what you dispute and why. Include the SCC reference and identify any invoice, payment, credit note, contractual issue or correspondence you rely on. We will record the dispute and refer material information to our client.

A genuine dispute will be considered; simply ignoring contact does not resolve the account.

Payments and authority

Payment will normally be made directly to the creditor unless authenticated written instructions state otherwise. SCC will not change payment details through an unsolicited social-media message. If anything appears inconsistent, stop and verify it with us.

Communication needs

If a health condition, disability, bereavement, language issue or other circumstance affects how you can communicate, tell us what reasonable adjustment would help. Only share what is necessary.

What SCC is—and is not

South Coast Collections provides pre-legal commercial debt recovery. We are not bailiffs or enforcement agents, do not have powers to enter premises or seize goods, and will not represent ourselves as having those powers.

See our Privacy Notice for information about personal data, or our Complaints Procedure if you are dissatisfied with our conduct.
